Egg Seperator

There is nothing worse than biting into something where you know that egg is an ingredient and you chomp down on a gritty piece of eggshell. I don't know about anyone else, but it runs a shiver down my spine and makes eating the rest of it a massive risk. And when you are cooking with it, there is always the thought after you've cracked one open, that a bit of shell might have snuck in there and be hiding under the yolk or something before you mix it all up.

So as gimmicky as it may look, Egg Separator designed by Tommy Hawes, is one of those new looks at an old technique. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing hard about cracking an egg on the side of a bowl the old fashioned way, but in a world of gadgets, this looks pretty cool. Egg Separator is a device where you place the whole egg into the main compartment and with a sharp twist and turn, you get the shells in one place, the whites in a separate compartment and the yolk in another. Whether this is just a concept or if it actually in production, this is another interesting kitchen 'helper' that would surely fill up many kitchen drawers. Found here.
